I saw a poster several years ago with a little girl on it. It said, “God don’t make no junk!” We are a narcissistic society today – constant selfies of people wanting attention and assurance that they are beautiful and have done something to warrant our praise or envy.
And yet, we are a population that has no regard for human life (their own or others). Youngsters have no self-esteem and largely take no responsibility for their actions. This is a dichotomy of conflicting emotions and behavior.
As Christians we should remember that we are precious to God. If we truly believe that about ourselves, we will recognize our worth and other people’s value as well. God tells us in John 15:12, “This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.” We need to show God’s love to those that are hurting, those rejected, and those different than us. By this means, we can all experience a little bit of heaven here on earth!
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” Ephesians 2:10.
